Guides for loan officers
One Short Video a Week: The Loan Officer's Easiest Content Habit
Most loan officers know video works. They have watched a competitor's face become the familiar one in their market while their own page sits quiet. The gap is rarely talent. It is the belief that video has to be produced, lit, edited, and perfect, which makes it heavy enough to postpone forever.
Drop the production standard. One short video a week, shot at your desk, on one useful topic, will do more for your business than the studio setup you keep meaning to buy.
What to talk about (you already know)
You answer the same questions every week. Each one is a video. What today's rate move actually means for a monthly payment. The one document buyers always forget. What a buydown is, in forty seconds. The mistake you saw on a contract this month, with the names left out.
Keep a running note of client questions on your phone. When recording day comes, pick the freshest one and answer it the way you answered it in person. No script beyond a few bullet points. The loan officers who sound natural on video are the ones talking, not reciting.
The setup that removes the excuses
The rule is simple: if recording requires setting up, you will skip it on busy weeks, and busy weeks are the job. Leave the phone mount on the desk. Know where the light comes from. Record in the same spot, the same way, every time, so starting takes thirty seconds.
Keep it short. Sixty to ninety seconds is plenty for one idea. Edit by transcript if your tool allows it, cut the stumbles, add captions, and post it the same day. Rough and published beats polished and pending, every single time.
One video, several touches
A weekly video is not only a social post. Send the link to the two or three clients who asked that exact question recently. Mention it in a conversation with an agent partner. Over a year, fifty-two short answers build a library that works for you while you are in closings: a worried buyer finds your calm explanation at 10 PM and calls you calmer in the morning.
And the topics never run out, because the market keeps moving and clients keep asking. Your expertise was never the constraint. The habit was.
Video plus the inbox
Video builds familiarity with people who scroll. Your database, though, lives in the inbox, and plenty of your best past clients will never see your posts. The loan officers who cover both, a short video for the feed and a monthly update for the inbox, are the ones who seem to be everywhere without working twice as hard.
That inbox half is what I take off your plate with LO Market Update. You record the one video a week that only you can record. Your clients still get a written market update from you every month, ready to send under your name, even in the weeks when life gets in the way of everything else.
A newsletter like this, written for you every month — white-labeled under your name, ready to send. $19.99/month or $199/year.
